THE UNCOMMONER’S GENE

The Uncommoner’s Gene is written by Ivan Branković:

Lightstep Dragoons are keepers of the Empire who rose to their status due to their genetically-inherited skill of precognition. Precognition cannot be learned or obtained, and only those of noble birth possess the genetic material that allows for it.

Eidur is a young boy growing up in the commoner neighborhoods in a border system of the Empire. Like most kids, he dreams of becoming a Dragoon. And like all commoners, he must face the fact that this is out of his reach.

But, one day he unwittingly exhibits precognition, an act virtually impossible for someone of such low rank. The event takes him down a long and dangerous path, searching for his origins while trying to keep his abilities hidden from the powers that be.
